About Us
DARS Morocco was founded by a mother and daughter from Meknes, Morocco, Zineb and Assia who moved to the United States in the early 2000s. The two have rescued animals in the United States for many years - with a total of 10 rescue animals as their own pets.
The duo never forgot about the helpless animals in their home country of Morocco. In 2019, using their own resources, Zineb and Assia started rescuing injured and disabled Moroccan animals they found on social media platforms. With the help of Moroccan volunteers and fosters, over 225 animals have been saved since 2019.
With the increased need for rescue in the under-resourced country, and over 200 animals in their care, Zineb and Assia have made it their mission to bring DARS Morocco to fruition and rescue as many strays of Morocco as possible, especially those with physical and mental limitations and disabilities.
